Illium
This vessel standing around 8ft high was created as my final piece for Hereford Art College. It retells the story of the Trojan War as told by the Greek poet Homer. The story spirals from the base until it reaches its conclusion with the fall of Troy at the top of the vessel. Whilst owing something to the Roman collumns that commemorated a successful campaign, Illium's shape is more like a tornado, with the main protagonists of the story being caught up in events out of their control, manipulated by the meddling and vengeful gods. |
